I mentioned in the last post, A House Divided, that our oldest didn’t attend the Hornets & Jazz game because he’s not a fan of large crowds or loud noise. And quite frankly, he isn’t big into sports.
In an attempt to not leave him out, I decided, he and I would do something more his speed together. I found tickets to Beeetlejuice, the Musical and knew this was just the thing. Plus, it takes care of #31 on my 40 Things list.
We made an entire afternoon of it by leaving as soon as school was over. We decided to make the 45 minute drive to Greensboro and park near the theater and then walk to dinner. I let Peyton choose the dinner spot. He decided on Liberty Oak.

We started with the Oak Board – Pimento cheese, sundried tomato Marmalade, Spinach Pesto, roasted red pepper Hummus, and Pepper Jelly served with Warm Pita Bread and Veggie Sticks
Peyton ordered the Sgt. Pepper – Smoked Turkey and New York white cheddar cheese served hot on a toasted croissant with our homemade Spicy Pepper Jelly with french fries.
I ordered the Fried Goat Cheese Salad – Sesame crusted and Lemon infused Goat Lady cheese rounds served on organic greens with Walnuts and Bourbon soaked cherries and served with our Fresh Herb Vinaigrette.
We were pleasantly pleased with our food. He really enjoyed the Spicy Pepper Jelly, it had the right amount of spice but not too much. The fried goat cheese added a delightful flavor to an otherwise bland green salad.
We finished off the meal by sharing a dessert. Peyton had never had Crème brûlée, so we had to give it a try. It was ok, nothing special there. Overall, our meal was enjoyed but I have no plans to return. Peyton would like to point out that sometimes a meal just doesn’t need a garnishment.
Before the show began, we walked around downtown Greensboro, window shopping. Once the doors open to the theater, we made our way in and my boy was super excited. He doesn’t show excitement often, so this was welcome.

We had amazing seats and we were thoroughly entertained. I laughed, I cried, I laughed some more. If you have a chance to take this show in, don’t pass it up. We loved it. If you’ve seen the show, what did you think?
This was a perfect play to knock #31 off my list!
