November Reflections: Wins, Lessons, and a Little Chaos

As we close the chapter on November, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the wins, lessons learned, frustrations faced, and the books that added a little extra depth to my month. Sometimes, life feels like a mix of the inspiring, the challenging, and the downright chaotic, doesn’t it? So, let’s cozy up and unpack it all together.

November’s Win: The Launch of Tea with a Taurus Podcast

First off, let’s talk about my biggest win this month. For me, it’s definitely been the launch of the Tea with a Taurus podcast. While I started this podcast in October, November marks the first full month of episodes. I have to admit, it’s been such a fulfilling journey! This podcast has been a source of self-care for me. It’s not just about sharing advice or stories with you—it’s also been a way for me to connect deeper with myself and find joy in creating content.

I’m also thrilled to share that the podcast can now be found on five different platforms across four different countries! It’s such a proud moment to see my blog transformed into something that’s connecting with people on a global level. I’m beyond grateful that you all are joining me on this journey and giving me the space to be vulnerable and share.

A Frustrating Curveball: A Truck, a House, and a Teen Driver

Life, of course, isn’t without its hiccups. My biggest frustration this month came in the form of an incident with my 15-year-old son, who’s learning to drive. Last Saturday, he was driving our truck to pick up his girlfriend for dinner with the family. He’s been doing great with his permit—until he wasn’t.

While pulling into her driveway, something went wrong, and he lost control. The truck hit her house. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but now we’re left sorting out the damage to both the house and the truck. It’s one of those parenting moments where you’re equal parts relieved and exasperated.

If nothing else, it’s a story we’ll laugh about… eventually.

Lessons Learned: The Art of Boundaries

This month, I also faced a personal growth challenge: setting boundaries. My therapist pointed out how often I say yes at work, even when I’m overwhelmed. Together, we worked on strategies to draw healthier boundaries and communicate my limits more effectively.

It’s not an overnight transformation, but I’m learning that boundaries aren’t about shutting people out—they’re about letting myself thrive. The book I read this month, Set Boundaries, Find Peace by Nedra Glover Tawwab, really drove this home. More on that below.

Books That Made My Month

Reading has always been my refuge, and this month I finished three books that couldn’t be more different from one another:

  1. Counting by 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan
This middle-grade novel about grief, resilience, and family left me both heartbroken and hopeful. Willow Chance, a quirky and brilliant 12-year-old, loses her adoptive parents in a car crash. What unfolds is a beautiful story of healing as she creates a surrogate family with people from all walks of life. It’s a reminder that family isn’t always who you’re born to—it’s who you find along the way.
  2. Set Boundaries, Find Peace by Nedra Glover Tawwab
This practical, empowering guide to boundary-setting has been life-changing. Tawwab breaks down how to assert your needs without guilt or fear of offending others. It’s a must-read if you struggle with codependency, burnout, or just saying no.
  3. The Pact by Suzanne Wright
And because we all need a little escapism, I dove into this steamy romance about an arranged marriage pact. It’s angsty, emotional, and full of characters grappling with love and loss. Sometimes, a good smutty read is exactly what the soul needs!

Looking Ahead

November has been a rollercoaster—a month of growth, challenges, and meaningful moments. As I sip my tea tonight, I’m filled with gratitude for this space and for all of you who join me here.

Whether you’re celebrating your own wins, working through frustrations, or diving into lessons learned, remember that every experience—good or bad—adds to the beautiful complexity of your story.

Let’s raise our mugs to a December full of possibility. Until next time, take care and keep shining.
