Are You Saying “Yes” Too Often… to the Wrong Things?
Welcome to Day 11 of the Unapologetically Me April Challenge! Today’s prompt is simple on paper but powerful in practice:
Say NO to something that doesn’t serve you—and YES to something that does.
This might sound like a motivational Instagram quote, but it’s a real-life game changer when you actually implement it.
Whether you’re a recovering people pleaser, a multitasking mama, a busy creative, or just someone learning to set healthy boundaries, today is your permission slip to take your power back.
Why Saying “No” Is a Form of Self-Respect
We often say yes because we don’t want to disappoint others—or we fear missing out. But the truth is:
- Every “yes” to something draining is a “no” to something life-giving.
- Saying “no” isn’t negative—it’s intentional. It creates space for the things that truly light you up.
Today, I said no to unnecessary obligations that were stressing me out and said yes to slowing down and reconnecting with my creativity (hello, journaling + playlist time!).
Journal Prompt for Day 11:
- What is one thing I’ve been saying “yes” to that no longer serves me?
- What would it feel like to say “yes” to something that fuels my peace, joy, or purpose instead?
