Redefining Thriving: What It Feels Like (Not Just What It Looks Like)

Today’s May You Thrive prompt asked a big question:

What does thriving feel like to you?

Not what it looks like on Instagram. Not what your boss or your high school best friend would define as thriving. Not the checklist of “shoulds” that we carry like invisible bricks.

But truly—what does it feel like in your body, your mind, your soul?

Here’s what I wrote in my journal today:

Thriving feels like quiet mornings with tea before the rest of the world wakes up.
It feels like saying no without guilt, and yes without fear.
Like creating something just because I want to, not because it’s productive.
It’s dinner on the porch. A deep belly laugh with a friend.
It’s finally trusting myself.

There was a time when I didn’t think that was enough.
I thought thriving had to be loud, visible, and measurable.

But now I know: thriving is a feeling.
It’s not a finish line. It’s a state of being. And it’s one I get to define for myself.

💬 So I want to ask you:
What does thriving feel like in your life?
Even if you’re not there yet—how will you know when you are?

Take a few moments today to reflect.
Use today’s journal prompt: “How will I know when I’m truly thriving?”
And give yourself the grace to grow into that vision.

Because thriving isn’t about being “done.”
It’s about being aligned.

Today’s affirmation:
👉 I define success on my own terms.

You deserve a version of thriving that fits your soul—not just your résumé.
